Creation Care Team

Who, What, and Why do we have a Creation Care Team Ministry?

The Creation Care Team (CCT) ministry was formed in mid-2018 as part of the CCT movement based on the Encyclical from Pope Francis: “Laudato Si’: Care of our Common Home.”  We are associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego’s Office of Life, Peace, and Justice – Care for Creation and Environmental Issues.  Our main goal is to education the parish and local community on efforts supporting the Encyclical.  In our effort, we provide information on what you can do at home to save water, energy, and waste; we’ve held a workshop on climate change; participate in Diocese workshops on Laudato Si’; attend Earth Day events; march in appropriate events (e.g. OB Holiday Parade, March for Life, etc.).  It is our hope that we can foster changes in our environment even within our parish that will translate to a better world in the future.
