Ascension Press Description of the Study:
“Paul’s letter to the Romans has been at the center of reflection, conversion, and controversy from the time it was written. Presented by Andrew Swafford and Jeff Cavins, Romans: The Gospel of Salvation provides an authentically Catholic, comprehensive, and simple way to understand the overarching theme of Romans—salvation. This fascinating book reveals that salvation is not merely the removal of a guilty verdict; it is about entering into Christ’s life, death, and resurrection and sharing in his divine life.”
“In Jesus Christ, all the hopes and expectations of Israel are fulfilled, leading to the universal (“catholic”) family of God. Romans: The Gospel of Salvation will help you to make sense of the difficult passages regarding faith, works of the law, and justification. Above all, it will help you to enter into a more meaningful relationship with Christ.”

Vacation Bible School in July

This Summer we are happy to announce this year’s theme is:

Food Truck Party!

Our program will be July 17 – July 21 9 am-12 pm.

This program invites children of all ages to get on a roll with God as a parade of Food Trucks rolls into their neighborhood for the summer’s biggest party! Using Matthew 6:11; “Give us this day our daily bread”, children are invited to pray as Jesus teaches. These words serve as a reminder that everything we have comes from God – and our daily needs are met by God.

Through stories in both the Old and New Testaments, this VBS opens kids’ eyes to the countless ways God provides, loves, and cares for us while inviting them to join God in providing, loving, and caring for others. The goal of Food Truck Party is to help children build on the practice of using daily prayer to turn to God for their needs – and also to serve as the hands of God in ensuring that the needs of others are met.

Our program is curated for kids 4 years old to 11 years old. Kids 12 years old and older can participate as team leaders and helpers. VBS will be July 17th-July 21st we will be opening up 8:40am for early drop off but the program will begin at 9am and end at 12pm. On Friday at noon we will have a Mass for all the kids and family members to attend, so that everyone can feel the VBS magic! This cost for VBS will be $60 per child. You can pay for VBS on the ONLINE GIVING under the tab that says “Religious VBS Registration.”

In 2015, Pope Francis wrote Laudato Si’ (The Letter); an encyclical letter about the environmental crisis to every single person in the world. A few years later, four voices that have gone unheard in global conversations have been invited to an unprecedented dialogue with the Pope. Hailing from Senegal, the Amazon, India, and Hawaii, they bring perspective and solutions from the poor, the indigenous, the youth, and wildlife into a conversation with Pope Francis himself. This documentary follows their journey to Rome and the extraordinary experiences that took place there, and is packed with powerfully moving personal stories alongside the latest information about the planetary crisis and the toll it’s taking on nature and people.

Because, in the words of the Laudato Si’ Movement chair Lorna Gold, “once you know, you CANNOT look away.” #LaudatoSiFilm

The film, which was produced by Oscar-winning producers “My Octopus Teacher” and the Catholic nonprofit Laudato Si’ Movement in collaboration with the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication and Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, has been watched by over 8 million people to date via YouTube.
