Los PosadasSunday Evening at 6:30 PM |
The Posadas is a nine-day religious festival celebrated throughout Latin America from December 16 to December 24. Las Posadas gets its name from the journey taken by Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem when Mary was about to give birth to Jesus. Due to the Roman census, when they arrived after a 90-mile journey, all the hostelries were full. Mary and Joseph went door to door pidiendo posada (looking for a place to spend the night, “asking for an inn”.) Come celebrate las Posadas with us. (90-mile journey not required. 12) The Journey (Caminata) For our Posada, we will travel together as a community on a much shorter journey (caminata). We will sing the traditional Posadas songs as we travel from house to house (approx.. two blocks), until we reach the “inn” where Mary and Joseph will be we welcomed. Please Bring

Logistics
If the caminata seems overwhelming, park and join us at the final “inn”. We need innkeepers to welcome in the peregrinos (pilgirims). RSVP to Anne Anthony |
