Sacred Heart offers a number of programs for the faith formation of children. Religious education classes for children in kindergarten through fifth grade meet each Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm, starting on September 29th at Sacred Heart Academy. This program includes the two year preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

Children are also given an opportunity to learn more about their faith during Children’s Liturgy of the Word, offered during the school year at 10:00 a.m. Masses. Children join their teacher in a nearby classroom during the readings and priest’s homily in the church. The teacher shares the Sunday readings in a way that children can better understand, within the context of a loving, nurturing environment.
