There is no cost to attend the performance, but a good-will offering will be accepted. Price has previously portrayed Judas Iscariot, Simon Peter, St. Joseph, Doubting Thomas, St. Paul and St. Luke.
His performance as St. Paul at St. Therese of Carmel Parish in Carmel Valley was filmed and shown in theaters nationwide. Price said he always strives to show the human side of these larger-than-life figures. His performance as St. Francis, along with the question-and-answer session that typically follows his performances, will be between 90 and 115 minutes.
Through the presentation, Price said, “I hope [audiences] will have a greater and an expanded understanding of Francis [and] know that he was much, much more than just an inspiration for garden statues. I hope they will see that Francis lived in a time not so dissimilar to ours, a time when people went to church but were not living their faith. I hope they will see him as a fellow human being who chose God over the world. I hope that by seeing him, perhaps for the first time or in a new light, they might be inspired and/or motivated to emulate some of the aspects of his life.”
