Music and Mass Links for the
Feast of the Holy Family

The Christmas Season continues this weekend with the Feast of the Holy Family. Mass will be celebrated outside in the church patio this afternoon at 4:30 PM and tomorrow at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Mass will be streamed live tomorrow at 8:00 AM at this link on the Sacred Heart YouTube channel:

We would like to apologize for the interrupted stream from last Sunday’s live 8:00 AM Mass. It was due to a failure in the modem connecting the rectory to Cox internet. We do everything that can be done to make the the entire video process seamless. The Eucharist is central to the spiritual lives of Catholic. Attendance at Mass not only strengthens our soul but also provides us with an opportunity for Christian fellowship. During the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we know the stream is helpful in maintaining your spiritual life and cope with a difficult time.

Fr. Emmanuel makes available the link to his Christmas homily on his blog. You can find the link to his blog here:

God bless you!

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

I hope you all had a wonderful and blessings-filled Christmas! This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family. We’re still singing Christmas carols, so I’m sure you know the songs except possibly Child of the Poor, although we have sung it just one day a year as long as I’ve been here. If you can’t remember how it goes, here’s a link for you:  https://youtu.be/5DDJ9BPsCjc. The lyrics for this song and all of the others can be found in this attachment.

As always, I was on the hunt for music to share with you to enhance the liturgy of the day. Here are my choices for today:

‘Joseph’s Lullaby’ by Mercy Me https://youtu.be/NgcGmgrNuLM This first one is special because it takes Joseph’s perspective. We don’t often get that!

‘Precious Promise’ by Stephen Curtis Chapman   https://youtu.be/ckKiPcS4irk

‘Labor of Love’ sung by Jill Phillips https://youtu.be/DBmWtX9k6VY

‘Arrive’ from His Story the Musical https://youtu.be/sY0RQxVhXBA

‘A Baby Changes Everything’ sung by Faith Hill  https://youtu.be/42Ixa36ZSg4

And for you traditionalists, ‘What Child Is This’ sung by Charlotte Church https://youtu.be/4s9ghpx-b3o

I hope you all continue to have a blessed Christmas season. May God continue to bless you with good health.
